Linda Levi

Director, CGI Math Teacher Learning Center

Linda Levi has been a member of the Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) research and development team since 1989 and is a nationally recognized expert in teacher professional development. 

Dr. Levi has worked in CGI research, design, teaching, and mentoring. Her forte is developing professional learning experiences that position teachers to better comprehend each child's mathematical mindset and use this knowledge to plan, design and implement instruction for their students. Dr. Levi is the co-author of the definitive book on CGI: Children’s Mathematics: Cognitively Guided Instruction (2015, 1999). She also co-authored Thinking Mathematically (2003) and Extending Children's Mathematics (2011). In 2018, Dr. Levi started CGI Math Teacher Learning Center, based in Madison, Wisconsin. Read more

The CGI Math Teacher Learning Center team of 17 CGI professional development (PD) leaders has over 375 cumulative years of experience with Cognitively Guided Instruction as university professors, researchers, classroom teachers, math facilitators, and education administrators. Each member of our team has worked with Linda Levi, Director, for 7 - 30 years. Our CGI PD leaders have an average of 17 years experience leading CGI PD.
