We are offering an open-enrollment CGI seminar for grade K-2 teachers in a remote learning format, June 24 - 27, 2024.

The sessions will run 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Central Time. 3 four-hour remote Saturday sessions will be provided in the 2024-2025 school year for follow-up support on the following days: September 21, 2024, November 9, 2024 and February 15, 2025.

This course is open to individual teachers or groups of teachers from the same school or school district.

Due to a generous contribution from Elizabeth Fennema, the tuition will be $500 per participant. Annie Keith, student, colleague and friend of Professor Fennema will teach this course.

Please register 1 person at a time so that we can collect information about each participant.

Participants will need the following supplies and materials:

  • A computer with video camera and microphone.

  • Internet access.

  • The ability to participate in a Zoom meeting.

  • A copy of the book, Children’s Mathematics available from Heinemann and other book sellers.

  • Handouts - a pdf file will be emailed to participants. Participants will need to print the file.

  • Blank paper and pens or markers.

  • If you don’t have a quiet place to participate in our Zoom meetings, headphones with a microphone would be really useful.


Our typical daily schedule will be:

9:30 – 11:00 a.m. | Whole group Zoom session

11:00 – 11:45 a.m. | Individual work time

11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Whole group Zoom session

1:00 - 1:45 p.m. | Lunch Break

1:45 – 4:00 p.m. | A mix of small group and whole group Zoom session

30 – 45 minutes of independent work to be completed before the next daily session starts


About Registration

Registration will be limited to 30 participants and will be filled on a first come first served basis. Payment in-full or a purchase order is required to hold a spot.

Refund Policy: Tuition will not be refundable, unless we have a wait list. If you register for the course and are unable to attend, you may send a substitute in your place. If we are able to refund tuition, we will refund 90% of your payment to cover credit card fees and processing.
